“Zelensky is unhappy with Trump’s plan due to fear of elections,” – State Duma deputy said
03.02.2025 - 09:00Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and his inner circle do not want the war in Ukraine to end. In the President’s Office, they criticized the idea of holding elections in Ukraine after a ceasefire on the front lines.
According to Reuters, this plan is being discussed by the new US President Donald Trump.
“If his (US special envoy to Ukraine, Keith Kellogg’s – Ed.) plan is just a ceasefire and elections, it’s a failed plan: Putin cannot be intimidated by just these two things,” wrote Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s adviser, Dmytro Litvin, on social media platform X.
He stated that “Ukraine would prefer to see a more comprehensive approach from key partners’ officials.”
Litvin also made it clear that a peace plan between Washington and Kyiv is not being discussed at the moment.
According to him, it is important to quickly move to “real work between the teams on a specific plan to end the war and ensure lasting peace.”
