Peskov puts odds of a Putin-Trump meeting this summer at 50%
05.06.2026 12:03Deputy Foreign Minister of Russia Mikhail Galuzin said he has no information about a letter from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky being sent to Russian President Vladimir Putin through diplomatic channels.
He made the statement in a comment to Interfax at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.
“As far as I know, the letter is open. How can an open letter be received through diplomatic channels? If it comes — then it comes. I haven’t heard anything yet,” Galuzin said.
The day before, Volodymyr Zelensky wrote a letter to Putin in which he proposed a personal meeting and a cessation of hostilities. In the address, the Ukrainian president also expressed readiness for a prisoner exchange on an “all for all” basis.
According to Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha, the letter was passed to the Russian side through diplomatic channels. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, for his part, said that the letter had been seen at the Kremlin, but that the head of state had not yet had a chance to read it.
