10.04.2024 - 09:27The provision regarding demobilization after 36 months of service has been removed from the draft law on mobilization tightening.
This was reported by the media and members of parliament yesterday, referring to a letter from the Commander-in-Chief Alexander Syrsky to Defense Minister Rustem Umerov.
In the letter, Syrsky proposed that provisions on demobilization be adopted separately as a law.
In the final version of the draft law before the second reading, the provision for demobilization after 36 months of service disappeared. The text now only states that demobilization is carried out by the decree of the President of Ukraine, although the timing is not specified.
“Demobilization is a set of measures, the decision on the procedure and timing of which is made by the President of Ukraine, aimed at the systematic transition of the national economy, state authorities, other government bodies, local self-government bodies, enterprises, organizations to work in peacetime conditions, as well as the Armed Forces of Ukraine, other military formations, civil defense forces – to the organization and staffing of peacetime,” the text reads.
