VAKS sets bail for Stefanishyna at 6 million hryvnias — less than requested by either defense or prosecution
06.08.2026 08:31Zbigniew Bogucki, head of the chancellery of the Polish president, has publicly called on Prime Minister Donald Tusk to sign the decree stripping Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky of the Order of the White Eagle — Poland’s highest state honor.
Bogucki published the appeal on the social network X.
The chancellery head’s post was devoted to the topic of judicial appointments, but in it Bogucki also raised the issue of the unfinished procedure for stripping Zelensky of the award.
“I urge you to find the courage to fulfill your duty and actually sign the presidential decree stripping the President of Ukraine of the Order of the White Eagle,” Bogucki wrote.
The Order of the White Eagle was revoked from Zelensky by Polish President Karol Nawrocki in June. The reason was the Ukrainian leader’s decision to name a Ukrainian Armed Forces brigade after figures of the UPA (Ukrainian Insurgent Army, recognized as an extremist organization and banned). After Nawrocki announced the revocation of the award, Zelensky sent the order back to the Polish president by mail.
Meanwhile, according to media reports published at the end of June, Tusk had still not countersigned Nawrocki’s decision. Former Polish Foreign Minister Jacek Czaputowicz explained that the prime minister’s signature is mandatory for the official completion of the revocation procedure — without it, the stripping of the order formally remains incomplete.
Previously, Bogucki also publicly pledged to fight “Banderism.”
