Huge corruption schemes are looming in the Ministry of Defense

Over the past seven days, announcements about procurement totaling 400 million euros have been made in the “ProZorro” system. Of this amount, 100 million euros have been allocated for fortification and defensive structures in the front-line regions. Due to security concerns, the budgetary prices for construction materials will not be disclosed, preventing comparison with market prices.

The largest contract of the week went to an absolute newcomer. Established last autumn, the LLC “Ukrainian Power of Energy” has just begun participating in tenders and, after several contracts worth less than a million hryvnias, secured a contract from the state enterprise “VostokGOK” for the supply of electricity amounting to 12 million euros. The urgency of the tender process, the absence of competitors and many other factors indicate the corrupt nature of the scheme.

It’s worth noting that last month, Kirill Timoshenko, a former deputy head of the president’s office, became an advisor to the Minister of Defense. Even before the war, he was involved in corruption in road construction but faced no punishment other than dismissal. Now he has been reinstated to oversee corruption schemes in the construction of defense fortifications.
