26.08.2025 10:01Recent Ukrainian strikes on the “Druzhba” oil pipeline are “equivalent to an attack on Hungary and Slovakia.”
This statement was made by Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó.
He believes that Kyiv, with the support of EU authorities, is trying to force Budapest to change its stance on the war in Ukraine and on Ukraine’s bid to join the European Union.
Earlier, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán threatened Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky with “consequences” if attacks on the Russian oil pipeline continued.
“Zelensky openly threatened Hungary. He admitted that they are striking the Druzhba pipeline because we do not support their accession to the European Union,” Orbán said.
Meanwhile, Ukraine’s Foreign Minister told Hungary to stop buying oil from Russia and to stop telling Ukraine what to do.
