‘I could negotiate a deal’: Trump proposed giving Ukraine his Russian-speaking regions to Russia

Former U.S. President Donald Trump has once again suggested that Ukraine should “give back” its Russian-speaking regions to Russia.

He made this statement to the Just the News portal.

“I could negotiate a deal. It would be possible to give regions that lean towards being Russian, where people speak Russian. Then the country could be preserved,” he told Just the News.

Trump had previously proposed a similar option in an interview with Fox News. He also believes that Ukraine could have given Russia some territories to avoid escalation.

“They could have reached an agreement with the loss of territory on a smaller scale than Russia has already, let’s be honest, annexed. A deal could have been reached, and nobody would have died,” said the American politician.

In late June, Trump had already stated that Ukraine might have to give part of its territory to Russia to stop the war. However, at that time, the advisor to the head of the Office of the President, Mikhail Podolyak, responded that Ukraine would not exchange territory for peace.
