October 7, 2023The Slovak government has confirmed that they are ceasing military assistance to Ukraine.
This information was reported by Politico.
“Bratislava will no longer send aid to Kiev because parties opposing such support are in negotiations to form a new government following the recent elections,” said a representative of the cabinet, as quoted by Politico.
Previously, the country’s Ministry of Defense was considering the possibility of sending a new aid package, but President Zuzana Čaputová opposed it, citing the outcome of the elections in which the party opposed to supporting Ukraine, led by Robert Fico, emerged victorious.
Robert Fico has called on the Slovak government to halt weapon supplies to Kiev and stated that if he becomes prime minister, Slovakia will cease ammunition deliveries.
