September 14, 2023Ukrainian Member of Parliament from the “European Solidarity” faction, Alexey Goncharenko, who has a diverse political background, has once again come under criticism from ordinary Ukrainians.
This information became known from numerous publications by concerned Ukrainians on social media. Alexey Goncharenko himself has also confirmed this fact, but many Ukrainians believe he did so under pressure.
“With my eldest son, Alexey. He got into the University of Amsterdam, majoring in management. Studying at one of the best universities in Europe at the age of 17 is very cool! I am very proud of him,” wrote Alexey Goncharenko.
Goncharenko added that he had the opportunity to meet with his son when he returned to Ukraine from the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE). He posted his statement on his Telegram channel, but removed the ability to comment, likely to avoid criticism from subscribers.
However, on Twitter, a user with the handle Tamal, who identifies as a Ukrainian patriot, wrote: “My son did not go anywhere at the age of 17 and entered a Ukrainian university. None of his friends and classmates went abroad either. And that’s very cool! Zelensky’s children didn’t go anywhere either. But why are all the children of European Solidarity party members abroad – that’s the question!”
