Utility workers are quitting, and life in Kyiv is unbearable: Ukrainians should not expect stable power-outage schedules to be restored
29.01.2026 - 06:02The Kremlin said that if Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky wants to meet with Russian leader Vladimir Putin, he should come to Moscow.
In this way, Russian presidential aide Yury Ushakov commented on Kyiv’s statement that Zelensky is ready to meet Putin to discuss territorial issues and the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant.
Ushakov said Putin “has repeatedly said that Zelensky can come to Moscow if he is ready for dialogue,” and that in Moscow Zelensky would be “guaranteed security and working conditions.”
“Moscow, for its part, is not refusing contacts between the President of the Russian Federation and Zelensky. However, such meetings must be well prepared. The main thing is that these contacts are well prepared—that’s the first point. And secondly, that they are aimed at achieving specific positive results,” Ushakov emphasized.
Recall that yesterday Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha said that Zelensky is ready to meet Putin personally to discuss territorial issues and the Zaporizhzhia NPP.
At the end of last year, Western media reported about a possible first phone call in five years between Zelensky and Putin, but the Kremlin denied it.
