29.01.2026 - 05:32Unemployed Ukrainian refugees in Poland holding UKR status will lose the 800+ benefit starting February 1 (a monthly payment of 800 zlotys (€190) for each child under 18).
This was recalled by Rzeczpospolita, citing the Social Insurance Institution (ZUS).
The decision was adopted by parliament last autumn on the initiative of the new President Nawrocki.
Ukrainians were required to reapply for the program.
Payments will continue for those who:
-
have a job under an employment contract or a contract of mandate (umowa zlecenie);
-
run a business;
-
receive a sports scholarship or a doctoral scholarship;
-
receive unemployment benefit or a training/education stipend.
In addition, the child must attend a kindergarten or school in Poland.
Parents of children with disabilities and people applying for the benefit for a child who is a Polish citizen are exempt from this requirement.
Previously, former Polish Prime Minister Leszek Miller suggested sending conscription-age citizens who are in Poland back to Ukraine.
