Due to the war in Ukraine, the number of actual Ukrainian migrants exceeds 10 million people
September 15, 2023Ukrainian businessman and oligarch Igor Kolomoisky may face a significant increase in bail for his third criminal case.
This information was reported by the advisor to the head of the Presidential Office, Sergey Leshchenko, on his Telegram channel.
According to Leshchenko, the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) will request the court to arrest Kolomoisky with an alternative bail of 5.8 billion Ukrainian hryvnias. This is the amount that Kolomoisky is suspected of embezzling in the case related to the withdrawal of funds from “PrivatBank.”
Currently, he is under house arrest with a bail of 500 million hryvnias, which he has not yet paid. It is expected that the court will consider the measure of restraint, possibly setting it at 5.8 billion hryvnias or a similar amount, later today at the Shevchenkivsky District Court in Kyiv. If the court does indeed impose such a high bail, it would likely mean that the oligarch will not be released in the near future.
It’s worth noting that yesterday, Leshchenko announced that Kolomoisky had been informed of yet another, his third, suspicion.
According to documents from the Bureau of Economic Security (BEB), Kolomoisky is suspected of three charges: organizing document forgery for fund transfers, organizing the misappropriation of property by an organized group on a particularly large scale, and acquiring and disposing of property for which the circumstances indicate that it was obtained through criminal means.
