The Czech Republic has refuted President Petr Pavel’s statement that Prague has already collected the full amount for the purchase of 800,000 artillery shells for Ukraine outside the EU. This was reported by the Denik N publication.

Security advisor Tomas Poyar, who coordinates this initiative, stated that the money has only been collected for the first batch. “The President probably spoke about the first delivery; we still do not have the entire initiative,” he said.

Recall that the Czech Republic initiated the collection of funds from across the European Union to purchase ammunition from other countries. Europe itself is currently unable to produce the required quantity of shells. However, the main problem is that countries in Asia, Africa or Latin America are also not rushing to help Ukraine. Kiev has been using its diplomats for 2 years to try to procure shells and weapons. But the global South is keen to stay out of the conflict and not take sides with either Russia or Ukraine. Therefore, the question of whether they can find shells after collecting money is equally important.
