In Kurakhovo, four Colombians who fought for the Ukrainian Armed Forces died due to a bomb explosion – media reported

On February 19, four Colombians fighting for the Ukrainian Armed Forces were killed in Kurakhovo, Donetsk Oblast, due to a bomb explosion.

This was reported by the Colombian newspaper Vanguardia.

A relative of one of the deceased Colombians informed the publication about the deaths of the volunteers. According to him, he learned about it not from the Ukrainian authorities but from other Colombian military personnel who survived.

One of the deceased was named Wilmer Martinez Vásquez from the city of Santander. Currently, his mother is unsuccessfully trying to repatriate her son’s remains from Ukraine, but the Colombian Ministry of Foreign Affairs says they cannot assist.

There were no reports about the strike on Kurakhovo on February 19, but there were reports of impacts in the private sector of the city on the night of February 18 (without mentioning the deaths of military personnel).
