In Kyiv, a drunken soldier shot two fellow servicemembers – the police have initiated an investigation

In Kiev, last night, a serviceman, who was reportedly intoxicated, shot and killed two of his fellow servicemen and fled the crime scene. However, he was apprehended two hours later, according to law enforcement authorities.

“Today, at around 01:30 on Lavrska Street, a conflict arose between a serviceman of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Konstantin K., and two other military personnel, during which the serviceman opened fire on both soldiers using his Kalashnikov assault rifle. The victims died at the scene of the incident. Afterward, Konstantin K. attempted to flee but was detained two hours later”, – law enforcement officials reported.

The soldier responsible for killing his comrades was reportedly in a state of alcohol intoxication, according to preliminary information.

Authorities also noted that a criminal case has been opened in connection with this incident, and the detained individual could face up to 15 years of imprisonment.
