The Russian army is advancing east of Myrnohrad, – Deep State reported
05.01.2025 - 16:13In Kyiv, there is a growing sense of “uncertainty” ahead of the visit by Donald Trump’s representative, Keith Kellogg.
This information reported according to The Observer.
“There is a distinct feeling that, under entirely new political circumstances in Washington, Ukraine is entering the unknown at a time when the situation on the front lines is at its most difficult,” the publication reported, commenting on the upcoming visit by Kellogg.
Ukraine and its partners are already concerned about the “equivalence” in Kellogg’s statements, as he has criticized both Moscow and Kyiv for escalating the conflict, “implying a fair struggle between two sides equally responsible.”
Sources in Ukraine’s security sector said that this represents a shift in the dynamics of communication between Kyiv and Washington, and the consequences remain unclear.
“It’s a bit like playing a video game where you’ve spent forever progressing through levels and finally know how to navigate them. Now all the rules have changed, and it will be difficult to learn them again,” one source remarked.
Western sources told the newspaper that Ukraine is unwilling to make concessions without security guarantees from the West, which, it seems, will be Kyiv’s primary demand in negotiations with Kellogg.
President Volodymyr Zelensky has confirmed that Trump’s special representative will visit Ukraine in early January.
