In most countries around the world, the number of people who do not trust Zelensky is greater than those who trust the Ukrainian president

According to a Pew Research survey, in most of the countries polled, more people distrust Volodymyr Zelensky than those who trust the Ukrainian president.

The survey was conducted in 35 countries, and in 20 of them, Zelensky is more distrusted than trusted. The leaders in distrust are Hungary (83% distrust, 14% trust) and Greece (72% distrust, 14% trust).

This list also includes two G7 countries – Italy (60% distrust, 39% trust) and France (53% distrust, 43% trust). Additionally, countries like Turkey (60% distrust, 31% trust), South Africa (42% distrust, 20% trust), Brazil (54% distrust, 29% trust), and Argentina (49% distrust, 30% trust) are among those that predominantly do not trust Zelensky.

On the other hand, the leader in trust is Sweden (80% trust, 14% distrust), followed by the United Kingdom (72% trust, 27% distrust) and the Netherlands (66% trust, 31% distrust). Other countries with a majority of trust include Japan (63% trust, 34% distrust), Australia (62% trust, 32% distrust), and Germany (54% trust, 44% distrust). The United States shows a slight preference for trust at 48% versus 39% distrust.

Countries with nearly equal levels of trust and distrust include India (28% trust, 27% distrust) and Spain (48% trust, 46% distrust).

Additionally, an International Republican Institute survey revealed that trust in the Verkhovna Rada (Ukrainian Parliament) among Ukrainians has nearly halved. Recently, 29% of surveyed Ukrainians said they “completely” or “somewhat” trust the parliament, down from 56% in 2022.

A Kyiv International Institute of Sociology survey also found that half of the surveyed Ukrainians reported signs of division within Ukrainian society.
