Lviv residents are unhappy with Ukraine’s air defenses after Russia’s strikes on the city, The Sunday Times reports
30.03.2026 05:03In Odesa, a professor was dismissed from a university for using the Russian language. The case concerns a lecturer at Odesa National Technological University.
This was announced by the office of the Commissioner for the Protection of the State Language.
It turned out that the office had received a complaint from one of the students.
According to the student, the lecturer handed out exam tickets with questions written in Russian.
A representative of the language ombudsman, Anna Nerush, said that state oversight measures were launched immediately after the complaint was received.
“We promptly began state oversight measures and sent the university a formal request letter,” she said.
The professor himself explained that he had used old exam tickets because of computer problems, so as not to disrupt the exam session.
It is also noted that he spoke to students in Russian because they were asking him questions in the same language.
After the inspection, a protocol was drawn up against him for violating the language law, and he was subsequently dismissed.
It is worth recalling that earlier in Odesa, teachers’ phones began to be checked for compliance with Ukraine’s language legislation.
