October 16, 2023Yurii Rosputko, the father of Alexander Rosputko, a midfielder for Shakhtar U-19, has revealed some details about his son’s situation.
Previously, there were reports that the footballer had fled to Russia.
“I cannot currently disclose the reason why Sasha left Shakhtar. I can say that he will definitely be safer in Russia. The information about seeking political asylum is untrue. My son did not request it. He is simply going to apply for a Russian passport, just as he would have done in his hometown of Donetsk. At the moment, Sasha shouldn’t be expected to join any team. He is very tired of everything. He is taking some time to relax and rest, and then we’ll see,” said Yurii Rosputko.
Earlier, two versions of Rosputko’s departure to Russia emerged in Ukrainian media. The first version suggests that the player holds pro-Russian views, which led to conflicts with his teammates. According to the second version, Rosputko simply couldn’t come to terms with Shakhtar regarding a new contract. His previous agreement with the club was set to expire at the end of the season, and Rosputko believed he was not being fairly compensated.
