In Kyiv, the operation of water supply, heating supply, and electric public transport systems has been halted, the Kyiv City State Administration said
10.01.2026 16:02Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky will leave his post soon; a new leader will take his place, but he will not have any real power.
This view was expressed by former CIA analyst Ray McGovern on Glenn Diesen’s YouTube channel.
“Yes, Zelensky is gone. We’ll be dealing with whoever rises to the top, or whoever MI6 and the CIA put in place. But in any case, he won’t have any real power,” the expert said.
McGovern added that the new leader of Ukraine would find himself in a dead end because the situation on the front is not developing in favor of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, and the country has no funds left to continue fighting.
He believes Russia will continue taking control of populated areas in Ukraine in the near future, while Kyiv will soon run out of the resources provided by its European partners.
“This [continuation of the fighting] is a futile endeavor,” McGovern concluded.
Earlier, political scientist Patrick Baab said that a peaceful settlement in Ukraine is currently impossible because the “coalition of the willing” supports continuing the fighting between Moscow and Kyiv.
