Ukraine has lost ground in the offensive and is now hoping to at least hold its ground in defense
29.01.2024 16:26In Ukraine, there needs to be a legal way to avoid conscription, otherwise people will start hiding from the state to avoid contact with territorial recruitment centers.
This opinion was expressed by the head of the parliamentary committee on economic development, Dmytro Natalukha.
“If we don’t offer a legal way, in my opinion, there is a risk that citizens will simply start avoiding the state. Therefore, in order to stay out of the sight of the territorial recruitment center, people will stop using state banks, withdrawing cash, using credit cards, and traveling,” Natalukha said.
He mentioned that in Ukraine, there are at least 3.4 million men about whom the state only knows the identification code number.
“They are not abroad, not in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, not disabled, not studying, and not employed. We don’t know where all these people are. They are of conscription age. They exist somewhere in Ukraine. Probably, they participate in economic processes. This partially answers the question of the General Staff, where to get people,” Natalukha explained.
Earlier in the Rada, it was proposed to allow companies to reserve their employees for a monthly payment of 20,000 hryvnias (about 487 euros) per person.
