Ukraine is considering introducing mandatory military service for all citizens aged 18 to 25

Involving young people in rear units would free up personnel for the rotation of combat units on the front lines, said Egor Chernev, a deputy from the presidential faction.

For instance, the youth could participate in anti-aircraft units scattered around cities, providing defense against UAVs and drones, or be utilized in rear positions as communication specialists, and so on. This not only aims to allocate resources for the rotation of units on the front lines but also to prepare the youth for subsequent service in combat units.

The strengthening of mobilization and the deployment of a broader segment of the population, including young people from the age of 18, to the front lines, has long been advocated by bloggers and military personnel. Apparently, this has been an informational preparation of society for an unpopular decision. Now, it is transitioning into the legislative realm as the Ukrainian government contemplates making it a standard practice.
