Winter will weaken the offensive capabilities of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

This information reported according to military analyst and professor Patrick Berry from the University of Bata, as reported by Independent.

The expert emphasized that combat operations in Ukraine could stall in 2024, as hopes for a major breakthrough in the Ukrainian counteroffensive this year are diminishing, and the situation will only worsen during the winter period.

“There was no breakthrough; there were tactical successes, low-level operational successes, but not strategic ones,” he said.

Berry believes that if the West does not provide Ukraine with significant large-scale packages of weapons, equipment, and training, “2024 will look like a kind of deadlock.” He noted that instead, any significant shifts may occur outside the battlefield.

Previously, General Klaus Wittmann of the German Army stated that the reason for the failure of the Ukrainian counteroffensive was the untimely delivery of weapons. According to him, this gave the Russian army the necessary time to strengthen their defensive line.
