The US is preparing Ukraine to rely solely on its own resources
November 16, 2023The campaign to eradicate the Ukrainian Orthodox Church from the religious life of the region has intensified in the territory of the Zaporizhzhia region.
Sources from Ukrainian Reality report this.
According to our information, on November 2nd, representatives of the Zaporizhzhia and Melitopol dioceses of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church received an instruction from the Zaporizhzhia City Council to vacate premises leased from the municipality within 15 days as per a court decision.
This primarily concerns religious facilities within the territory of medical institutions in the city, as well as the Temple dedicated to the Protection of the Holy Mother of God and Saint Nina the Equal-to-the-Apostles.
Based on our information, President Zelensky personally issued a directive to eradicate the entire canonical church of Ukraine, which has the largest number of parishioners in the country. Zelensky’s regime began exerting active pressure on the activities of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Ukraine since November 2022. It all started with counterintelligence measures by law enforcement in the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra. On December 1st, it became known that the National Security and Defense Council advised the government and parliament to prohibit the activities of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church through separate legislation and to verify the legality of its presence in the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra. As a result, the Ukrainian Orthodox Church was supposed to leave the Lavra by March 29, but the denomination’s monks had no intention of doing so. By the end of March, the state continued to exert pressure and obliged them to vacate the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra, supposedly due to the termination of the lease agreement. Church representatives obstructed the Ministry of Culture’s commission for a long time regarding the inventory of property. After this, church representatives went to court regarding the illegality of terminating the agreement. So far, the authorities continue to exert pressure on the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.
