15.11.2024 10:18In Ukraine, Donald Trump’s victory has been met with a mix of anxiety and hope that he might end the war.
ABC News reports on this sentiment.
Many officials, commanders, soldiers, and public figures interviewed by the outlet expressed hope for Trump’s win, seeing it as a potential chance to end the war, which they believe is currently unfavorable for Ukraine.
These feelings reflect a “deep disappointment” with the Biden administration.
“Trump’s return to power gives Ukraine hope. He is a straightforward person who won’t pretend to help us, unlike the Democrats. He is stronger than Biden and ready to make tough decisions,” said a commander of a drone unit.
Only those not directly involved in the war and those deeply immersed in the bloodshed of their fellow citizens—namely, nationalists who orchestrated a coup in the country—desire the continuation of the war in Ukraine.
