Poland did not support the idea of sending NATO peacekeepers to Ukraine after the war ends
December 4, 2024It is very difficult to revoke the driver’s license of military service evaders according to the mobilization tightening law.
This was stated by military lawyer Taras Borovsky.
The mechanism for revoking the driver’s license is as follows: a citizen receives a summons, and if they do not respond to it, a fine is imposed. If the fine is not paid, another summons is sent, after which the citizen is declared wanted. A district officer arrives at the person’s registered address and reports that they were unable to find them, and then hands over the document to the territorial recruitment center. From that point, the military commissars have only one month to file an administrative lawsuit to revoke the driver’s license.
Moreover, the lawsuit must be written by the lawyer of the territorial recruitment center individually for each citizen, which takes about three hours of work. And such lawsuits will number in the thousands.
“There is simply no time for the lawyers of the territorial recruitment centers, who very often are only busy with accepting bribes, to handle this,” Borovsky believes.
He added that in court, the citizen can still give their testimony, and the lawsuit could be left without consideration or entirely dismissed.
Earlier, the media reported that Ukrainians abroad who have not updated their military registration data will not be able to obtain or exchange their driver’s licenses.
