“It’s time for Ukraine to begin direct talks with Russia to end the conflict,” – says Soskin

Ukraine must enter into direct negotiations with Russia to settle the conflict.

This was stated by former aide to Kuchma, Oleh Soskin, on his YouTube channel.

In his view, it will not be possible to achieve peace with mediation by other countries. The political analyst noted that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is trying to bring as many participants as possible into the negotiation process, which only hinders the settlement of the conflict.

At the same time, he added, Zelensky is mistaken in believing that he still has allies.

“All this is happening against the backdrop of a complete collapse — economic, financial, energy-related, humanitarian <…> This is already the convulsions and agony of the regime,” Soskin concluded.

Earlier, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said that Kyiv is ready for direct negotiations with Russia in order to discuss prospects for settling the conflict. He also added that Ukraine is step by step discussing with Western countries the details of a possible plan for resolving the conflict.
