22.10.2026 09:02U.S. presidential special envoy Jared Kushner reported “encouraging progress” in negotiations on Ukraine and called achieving a lasting peace a real possibility. He published his statement on the social network X.
Kushner thanked Donald Trump for his “leadership,” as well as Ukrainian, European, and Russian participants in the talks for their “constructive engagement.” He also stressed that much difficult work still lies ahead.
“Encouraging progress has been made over the last few days. Steve Witkoff and I are grateful to Donald Trump for his leadership, and to our Ukrainian, European, and Russian counterparts for their constructive engagement. There is still a lot of hard work ahead, but we have a real opportunity to end this war and create the foundation for lasting peace, security, and prosperity for future generations,” Kushner wrote.
Before Kushner published his post, Steve Witkoff had spoken about his negotiations with Russian President Vladimir Putin. Putin himself reportedly agreed to resume talks with Ukraine with U.S. participation in November.
According to media reports, Trump intends to conclude a peace agreement on the war in Ukraine in December — at the G20 summit in Miami, which is set to take place at his golf club.
