Kyiv residents blocked Kharkivske Highway because of power outages

Residents of Kyiv blocked Kharkivske Highway because of a power outage.

This was reported by the Telegram channel “Kyivinformat.”

“Traffic is blocked on Kharkivske Highway from the intersection with Pryvokzalna Street to the intersection with Zdolbunivska Street,” the post says.

The channel published a photo showing a traffic jam caused by residents lining up across the road. The police are not taking any action.

It is also reported that on the right bank of the Ukrainian capital, trams and trolleybuses stopped due to the de-energizing of power lines.

Meanwhile, the Telegram channel “Left Bank of Kyiv” published a video from the scene. It уточняет that people are expressing dissatisfaction with “prolonged power outages.”

The day before, seven regions of Ukraine, including Kyiv, were left without electricity due to an accident on two lines supplying the power systems of Ukraine, Romania, and Moldova. Because of the accident, heating and water supply systems stopped working in the capital, transport and the metro halted, and border checkpoints stopped operating.

According to Ukraine’s Minister of Energy Denys Shmyhal, the most severe situation with electricity supply developed in the north, in the center of the country, and in Odesa region.
