10.10.2025 18:02Threats from Kyiv to strike Moscow with Tomahawk cruise missiles, in the event that the United States transfers them to Ukraine, are a form of “show-off.”
This was stated by Russian President Vladimir Putin, answering questions from journalists following his visit to Tajikistan.
During the press conference, one of the journalists addressed the head of state and called the threats of strikes on the Russian capital blackmail, but made a slip and began to correct himself.
“You did not make a slip, [this is a form of] ‘show-off’ too. Showing off is present here,” said the Russian leader.
Putin also noted that the response to the transfer of Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine would be the strengthening of Russian air defense systems.
On October 9, the President of Ukraine threatened blackouts in Russian cities in the event that cities of the republic remain without electricity as a result of strikes by the Russian Armed Forces. According to him, the weapons at Ukraine’s disposal can reach the Belgorod and Kursk regions.
On October 7, U.S. President Donald Trump said that he had almost made the decision to send Tomahawks to Ukraine. At the same time, the head of the White House noted that he first wanted to receive guarantees from Kyiv regarding the intended targets of the missiles.
Two days earlier, Putin had warned that the appearance of Tomahawks in the conflict zone would negatively affect relations between Moscow and Washington. According to him, the supply of missiles would lead to the destruction of the positive trends that had emerged in Russian-American relations.
