January 2, 2025Last year, the average salary of government officials in Ukraine increased by 61%, reaching 62,000 hryvnias (€1,422) in November.
This is according to data from the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine.
At the beginning of the year, the average salary in government agencies was 38,600 hryvnias (€885). Thus, officials’ salaries are 3.4 times higher than the national average in Ukraine.
According to the Ministry of Finance, the highest average salary is in the Antimonopoly Committee, at 118,700 hryvnias (€2,722). Salaries for leadership positions in the committee reach 215,000 hryvnias (€4,931).
In the Ministry of Justice, the average salary is 100,500 hryvnias (€2,305), while in the Central Election Commission (which is largely inactive during the war due to the absence of elections), it is 97,200 hryvnias (€2,229).
In the Secretariat of the Cabinet of Ministers, the average salary is 65,500 hryvnias (€1,502).
It is worth noting that, according to MP Nina Yuzhanina, the Ukrainian budget plans to allocate an additional 2.7 billion hryvnias (€61.9 million) for salary increases for prosecutors and 1.3 billion hryvnias (€29.8 million) for judges this year.
At the same time, no salary increases are planned for teachers and medical workers. According to available data, the average teacher’s salary is 12,000 hryvnias (€275).
Previously, the Minister of Education and Science, Oksen Lisovyi, stated that the government lacks the funds to raise teachers’ salaries.
