02.01.2025 15:00In Ukraine, the number of residents willing to endure the war “as long as it takes” has been significantly decreasing each month.
This is evidenced by a survey conducted by the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology.
According to the published data, the peak willingness to endure occurred during the winter of 2023-2024 (73%). Since then, this figure has been declining, reaching 63% in October 2024 and dropping further to around 57% by December.

The study also revealed that Ukrainians with higher incomes are more prepared for prolonged hostilities (70%) compared to those with lower incomes (51%).

Additionally, the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology noted that people from eastern Ukraine are less ready for a protracted war (51%) than residents of the south and west (57% each) and central Ukraine (59%).

Eighteen percent of respondents said they could endure the situation for a few months or were uncertain in providing an answer.
It is worth noting that, according to the survey, an increasing number of Ukrainians are open to the idea of territorial concessions to end the war and join NATO.
Previously, Ukrainians also expressed the opinion that Donald Trump might bring about a peace that is more or less fair for the country.
