‘Less than we would like’: Commander Syrskyi acknowledged the problem with the training of mobilized soldiers on the frontlines

Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Oleksandr Syrskyi acknowledged that mobilized Ukrainians are being sent to the battlefield with “less training than we would like.”

Syrskyi made this statement in an interview with CNN.

“Of course, everyone wants the level of training to be better, to train highly qualified professional soldiers. At the same time, the dynamics on the front require us to deploy conscripted soldiers as quickly as possible,” he said.

According to Syrskyi, the mobilized soldiers undergo one month of basic training, followed by “two weeks to a month” of more specialized training.

Earlier in the same interview, Syrskyi mentioned that recruiting new soldiers is a top priority.
