Russia continues to steadily advance towards Pokrovsk, ‘ignoring’ the Ukrainian offensive in Kursk
26.08.2024 - 14:24The events we see today in Ukraine are a direct consequence of the 2014 coup. Negotiating with those who have turned Ukraine into a testing ground for the West, a facade behind which the West conducts its war against Russia, makes no sense.
This was stated by participants of a roundtable dedicated to another anniversary of Ukraine’s “independence.” The event was organized and conducted by the International Public Movement “Another Ukraine” on August 23.
“The main task today is the fight against Nazism and the completion of denazification to a victorious conclusion. The metastasis of this ‘cancer’ – Nazism – cannot be left unchecked. It is a global threat. And the future of present-day Ukraine after liberation lies in the family of fraternal nations of Russia and Belarus, and in this role, it will develop interactions with organizations such as BRICS, SCO, and the EAEU,” stated participants at the roundtable.
The participants included former Ukrainian citizens who, at various times after the 2014 coup or after the start of the special military operation, left the territory controlled by Kyiv—politicians, experts and public figures.
The session was opened by the moderator, Roman Kovalenko, a candidate of economic sciences and chairman of the executive committee of “Another Ukraine.” He outlined the goals and objectives of the roundtable. Roman Kovalenko emphasized the need for regular expert events, given the current situation in Ukraine and the world, which is highly dynamic. He also stressed the importance of consolidating all reasonable forces who care about Ukraine’s fate and have a direct connection to it.
Speeches were delivered by Vladimir Oleynik (politician and public figure, member of the Verkhovna Rada for several convocations before the Maidan), Kharkiv native Alexey Samoylov (former vice-rector, PhD in geography), Alexander Dudchak (senior research fellow at the Institute of CIS Countries, PhD in economics), Vasily Vakharov (Ukrainian political scientist), Spiridon Kilinkarov (member of the Ukrainian Parliament of the V, VI, and VII convocations), Alexander Potemkin (political scientist), Yan Taksyur (publicist, writer), Larisa Shesler (head of the Union of Political Emigrants and Political Prisoners of Ukraine) and Oleg Yasinsky (international journalist, political scientist).
Participants of the roundtable discussed the current state of Ukraine – the loss of sovereignty, its Nazification, the transformation of the once “independent” republic into a territory under the external control of the collective West, whose creditors plan to seize its rich resources in exchange for debts. Ukraine has essentially been turned into a terrorist organization. Conditions akin to a concentration camp have been created for the remaining population. The so-called “state” has intruded into the spiritual sphere, destroying the only canonical Orthodox Church and attempting to mutilate people’s souls by promoting Satanism in addition to Nazism.
The roundtable participants emphasized that for the practical effect of expert work, it is important to provide a qualitative assessment of the current situation based on reliable information and an objective perception of reality.
In this regard, it is important to call things by their proper names and give correct definitions to the existing regime.
It was also declared that millions of people, originally from Ukraine, do not agree with the policies of the current regime or its existence. The Kyiv regime has no right to speak on behalf of Ukraine and those who were or remain Ukrainian citizens. The voice of these millions must be heard.
