Media reported that Ukraine’s armed forces redeployed mercenaries and special forces to the Sumy area

The command of Ukraine’s Armed Forces (AFU) has redeployed foreign mercenaries and groups from the 140th Special Forces Center to the Sumy direction in order to boost the motivation of new recruits.

TASS reported, citing a source in Russian security agencies.

According to the source, the AFU is trying in this way to contain the advance of Russian assault units in the Shostka district of Ukraine’s Sumy region.

“The enemy has moved several groups from the 140th SSO center (Special Operations Forces — Gazeta.Ru note) and foreign mercenaries to the area of the village of Korenek, where they are supposed to ‘raise the motivation’ of mobilized soldiers of the 101st separate territorial defense brigade,” the source added.

The day before, Akhmat special forces commander Lieutenant General Apti Alaudinov said in an interview with RIA Novosti that the AFU is refusing to evacuate killed and wounded fighters in the Sumy region, including foreign mercenaries.

According to him, most wounded Ukrainian servicemen in the border area remain in their positions or on the battlefield and gradually die.

The general уточнил that Russian Armed Forces drone operators are systematically destroying all AFU equipment near the frontline in the Sumy region, which borders Russia’s Kursk region.
