12.06.2026 13:07Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev has declared that Russia will “teach Europe a lesson about life.”
The remarks were made in a comment to Kremlin pool journalist Alexander Yunashev.
“We will teach them, we will teach them, don’t you doubt it,” Medvedev said in response to the question of whether “we will teach Europe a lesson about life.”
On June 12, to mark Russia Day, Medvedev published an AI-generated video on his Telegram channel. In the clip, he uses a shredder to destroy portraits of European leaders — German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer.
In a comment beneath the video, Medvedev congratulated citizens on Russia Day and stated that “not a single enemy will prevent the development and prosperity of our Motherland.”
Previously, the Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council called Western elites “pathetic and envious,” as well as “deceitful and weak.” In his view, Russia must cultivate distrust as it builds a new code of relations with Western partners.
