MP Dubinsky called Zelensky’s sanctions petty personal revenge
January 20, 2025The Verkhovna Rada will draft a bill to punish employees of territorial recruitment centers and military medical commissions for violations during mobilization.
This was reported by MP Maksym Buzhansky.
The proposal was put forward by Chief of the General Staff Barylkevych and MP Pavliuk following a meeting of two Verkhovna Rada committees, where the widespread practice of “bus-ifying” people was discussed.
“We will develop and introduce a bill on the accountability of employees of territorial recruitment centers for attempting to mobilize those who are exempt or reserved, and of military medical commission employees for, frankly speaking, trying to declare unfit individuals as fit. It cannot be that citizens face penalties for violating military registration rules, while employees of territorial recruitment centers and military medical commissions do not,” Buzhansky wrote.
Meanwhile, details have emerged about a bill to limit the powers of territorial recruitment centers. Specifically:
- Employees will be required to remove balaclavas.
- They will be prohibited from using forceful methods.
- Police officers must be present to protect citizens’ rights.
This consensus was reached during a Verkhovna Rada committee meeting. It is expected that these amendments to the mobilization law will be submitted for a parliamentary vote.
Earlier, the Ministry of Internal Affairs stated that recruiters could mobilize Ukrainians on the streets without the presence of police.
