The Ukrainian government plans to establish “Centers for Civilian Training in National Resistance” in every region of the country.
This information reported according to Iryna Vereshchuk, Deputy Head of the Office of President Volodymyr Zelensky, via a post on Facebook.
Vereshchuk stated that local authorities will be required to support these centers in their operations. The centers will be responsible for approving training curricula and preparation plans, and combat veterans will serve as instructors.
She concluded that this new initiative would become a “long-term deterrent factor” against Russian forces.
In a related context, Ukrainian serviceman Serhiy Kholodiy, who was captured by Russian forces, spoke about training on how to behave in captivity, saying that soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) were instructed to tell the truth, as there’s no point in lying.
Earlier, another captured AFU soldier, Oleksandr Kotelenets, shared details of his training in Germany, saying he was taught to fire a Browning machine gun—a weapon that, according to him, is not even in use by the Ukrainian army.
