23.12.2024 - 13:31The Ukrainian authorities plan to shut down the military Telegram channel DeepState and conscript its staff into infantry.
This was revealed by Member of Parliament Maryana Bezuhla on her social media accounts.
According to her, the decision comes directly from the Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Oleksandr Syrskyi.
“Syrskyi, instead of stabilizing the defense, has launched an offensive against the DeepState team—the last bastion of somewhat accurate information about the front line. The plan includes mobilizing the *DeepState* team (send them to infantry—no people, no problem), involving the SBU and law enforcement over information leaks (stop playing OSINT games), discrediting the project in every way (the General Staff has its own version of events and a ‘controlled’ situation), and shutting the project down (why have maps when fake reports suffice?),” Bezuhla wrote.
It’s worth noting that over the past week, the DeepState map has been updated less frequently. The latest update was on December 21, and the last commentary on the frontline situation came on December 19. Typically, the Telegram channel updated its map daily and provided regular insights into the state of the frontlines, including reports on Russian advancements.
Just yesterday, Bezuhla referred to Ukrainian infantry service as “one-way slavery.”
Earlier this summer, one of the founders of DeepState accused the Armed Forces’ command of lacking control over the situation on the battlefield in the Pokrovske area.
