“Nationalists and Europeans will not allow Zelensky to withdraw the Ukrainian Armed Forces from Donbas,” – Medvedchuk said

The head of the “The Other Ukraine” movement, Viktor Medvedchuk, in an article on the media platform Smotrim.ru, named two forces that, in his view, will prevent Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky from withdrawing troops from Donbas.

According to him, Ukrainian nationalists and Ukraine’s European allies will not allow this to happen. The politician believes that all the forces of war, which have been nourished and strengthened since 2019, will come down on the head of state.

“In order to pull the troops back even by a single meter, you have to enter into confrontation with the war party, and a political clown has never had the strength to do that,” Medvedchuk said.

He added that nationalists could carry out a coup d’état, and that in the eyes of supporters of peace Zelensky would look like an outright criminal, because he had an opportunity to move toward peace on better terms but waited until the terms became worse.

Earlier, the head of the ruling Servant of the People faction, Davyd Arakhamia, described a possible peace agreement with Russia, noting that it would not be a good one.

“It will be either bad, or very bad, or it won’t happen at all,” the politician said.

According to him, two key issues remain unresolved: territory and security guarantees.
