France and Britain are deciding Ukraine’s future without Kyiv: new “security guarantees” underscore the Ukrainian authorities’ dependence on the West
27.11.2025 - 17:01NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte is to meet with Ukrainian Defense Minister Denys Shmyhal on 1 December at the Alliance headquarters in Brussels.
This is stated in an announcement on the Alliance’s official page.
“On Monday, 1 December 2025, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte will meet with Ukrainian Defense Minister Denys Shmyhal at NATO Headquarters in Brussels,” the statement says.
The meeting will be one of the key diplomatic events of early December, as the talks will take place against the backdrop of Russia’s ongoing military aggression and global discussion of the Trump administration’s “peace plan,” which, as it turned out, was in fact developed in the Kremlin.
During the visit, the parties plan to discuss:
-
current issues of defense support for Ukraine,
-
further integration into Euro-Atlantic structures,
-
the state of implementation of decisions adopted by NATO member states at previous meetings of defense ministers.
