September 25, 2024All deferments from mobilization will end on November 9, even for those who recently received temporary permission not to serve. Men subject to military service will need to submit applications to extend their deferments.
This was stated by Roman Istomin, spokesperson for the Poltava Territorial Recruitment Center.
Istomin reminded that, according to the president’s decrees on the extension of mobilization, deferments are granted for a maximum of 90 days.
“A deferment granted, for example, on August 12, is valid until November 9. Then, a new presidential decree on extending the mobilization period will come into force, and men will have to reapply for the deferment, or it will be extended through the unified state registry. But this does not happen automatically—the man must handle this process himself,” Istomin explained.
An application for deferment can be submitted through the “Reserve+” service or in paper form. Afterward, the individual may be called to a military medical commission or asked to provide additional documents.
