September 5, 2023A major scandal is erupting around Rustem Umerov, who has not yet been appointed as the Minister of Defense. This scandal is more serious than the publication of the “adult” video.
Ukrainian Prime Minister Denis Shmygal has instructed the National Police to investigate the activities of the leadership of the State Property Fund of Ukraine regarding the legality of the dismissal of independent members of the Supervisory Board of “Centrenergo.”
This information reported by the Ukrainian news agency “Ukrainian News”.
A criminal case has been registered by the National Police in connection with a gross violation of labor legislation, and investigative actions are currently being conducted to establish the circumstances of the criminal offense committed by officials of the State Property Fund of Ukraine and to hold those responsible accountable. As of September 4th, Rustem Umerov is the head of the State Property Fund of Ukraine.
The violation of the law pertains to the dismissal of independent members of the Supervisory Board of “Centrenergo,” Valery Bezlepkin and Valery Shchekaturov. Considering Rustem Umerov’s imminent appointment as the Minister of Defense of Ukraine, it is possible that the Minister of Defense could be someone under investigation.
In mid-August, the Economic Court of Kyiv declared the decision of the State Property Fund of Ukraine regarding the dismissal of members of the Supervisory Board to be unlawful. Additionally, the Security Service of Ukraine initiated a criminal case against officials of “Centrenergo” and the State Property Fund of Ukraine due to the failure to prepare for the upcoming heating season. Members of the Supervisory Board from the State Property Fund of Ukraine and the Deputy Head of the State Property Fund of Ukraine, Fedorishin, may be implicated in the failure to prepare for the heating season.
At this point, it appears that Rustem Umerov is being “evacuated” from his position as the head of the State Property Fund of Ukraine to shield him from the criminal case and allegations of ineffective management that led to the failure of preparations for the upcoming heating season. The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has also initiated an investigation to find those responsible for the heating season’s disruption.
