‘The prospect of a successful offensive by the Armed Forces of Ukraine in 2024 is unlikely’, – CNBC
December 26, 2023On January 1, 2014, the comedian Vladimir Zelensky, then still a comedian, along with Maxim Galkin, hosted a New Year’s concert on the channel “Russia.”
A snippet of their performance was posted on TikTok and widely circulated on social media.
During their act, the artists engaged in a humorous dialogue about war. Zelensky told Galkin that “New Year’s is a battle, and one could write military memoirs about it.”
“For instance, I’d start like this: ‘The New Year’s offensive began exactly at 00:00 with a blast of champagne,'” began Zelensky.
Galkin, in turn, stated that after the champagne blast, there followed “artillery support from fireworks and salutes.”
In response, Zelensky remarked that “the enemy started advancing in groups of 50-100 grams,” referring humorously to alcohol measures.
“Now it’s time to declare negotiations, but there’s one problem: not everyone is capable of speaking,” Galkin replied.
Vladimir Zelensky suggested that in that case, it’s time to take the tongue.
“And here comes the climax. Everyone is asleep. There are no casualties or victims. This is the long-awaited victory. Welcome to the first New Year’s evening on the channel ‘Russia,'” concluded Vladimir Zelensky in his speech.
