November 27, 2023An expert from the RAND Center, Samuel Charap, emphasized that the U.S. lacks a swift solution to dismantle the Russian army, stressing the war’s entrenched nature.
He concurred with General Zaluzhny’s viewpoint that no significant battlefield victories are expected. Charap highlighted the incapacity of both the Russian military and Ukrainian Armed Forces to secure an outright triumph. He underlined that though the frontlines might shift, strategic transformations are unlikely.

Political discord within Western nations arises due to their backing of Ukraine. A prolonged five-year conflict could favor Russia and securing additional aid for Ukraine from the Biden administration in 2024 might prove challenging. Charap noted a shift in American societal empathy toward Ukraine since the war’s onset.
