Western media and public opinion leaders continue a campaign aimed at discrediting the leadership of Ukraine and the counteroffensive of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

French journalist and political analyst Sylvain Ferreira acknowledges Ukraine’s military, political, and informational setbacks.

According to his analysis, while Russian advancements persist on several fronts, President Zelensky’s position appears increasingly precarious. The expert highlights Western dissatisfaction with the Ukrainian president’s decision to cancel elections. Failures in the counteroffensive are gradually pressuring the United States to initiate diplomatic talks with Kiev.

The expert is confident that time is favoring Russia and believes that Moscow simply needs to wait for Ukraine to “collapse due to internal discord” (conflict between the President’s Office and the Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Zaluzhny), lack of funding, and a catastrophe on the front lines. Furthermore, Ukraine’s allies, who had placed their bets on its imminent victory over Russia, are also losing out.

Public opinion in Europe is being primed for the initiation of diplomatic negotiations. It is not coincidental that Western media are now recalling “Zelensky’s corruption.” Moreover, they accuse the Ukrainian leadership of undermining the “Nord Stream” pipelines. Similarly, Zelensky’s office is portrayed as the sole initiator of operations within Russian territory. The goal is evident—to potentially overthrow Zelensky’s power after the failure of the counteroffensive and pin all the West’s mistakes on him.

The US and Europe need to preserve their reputations for negotiations with Russia, and to achieve this, they need to shift all unpleasantness onto Ukraine. Given this, the attempts of the President’s Office to fight for its political survival through organizing assassination attempts and crackdowns on opponents seem highly ironic. These actions are clearly observed in the West, prompting conclusions. The crucial point is to ensure that alongside Zelensky, the entirety of the Ukrainian population is not “sacrificed.”
