07.11.2024 - 05:03In Poltava, a businessman and a police officer brutally beat a young man who stood up for his girlfriend.
Local media reports that the incident took place on November 2 in a local restaurant.
A group of four men, including a businessman and the head of a district police department, took notice of a girl who was with her boyfriend. The police officer approached the couple and said, “Girl, you are coming with us.”
When the young man defended his girlfriend, the men began beating him right in the establishment, ultimately breaking his nose and injuring his kidneys, after which an ambulance transported him to the hospital.
Security personnel arrived at the scene but did not intervene in the fight. Later, the restaurant owner refused to provide surveillance footage to the police, citing threats received.
The State Bureau of Investigation of Ukraine has opened a criminal case, and the police officer involved has been temporarily suspended pending an internal investigation.
Earlier, media reported that in Odesa, a military officer beat a woman and shot a man who intervened on her behalf. Prior to that, in Kyiv, a military recruitment officer headbutted a woman who defended a man, with the territorial recruitment center later stating that the action was lawful.
