In Russia, they called Zelensky a toxic figure for London and Washington
16.03.2026 12:02Because the conflict in the Middle East continues, oil keeps getting more expensive. The price of the most traded grade, Brent, is approaching $105 per barrel.
This is shown by the results of this morning’s trading.
The price of May Brent futures on the London ICE Futures exchange rose by $1.74 (1.69%) to $104.88 per barrel. Futures for WTI crude for April on electronic trading on the New York Mercantile Exchange (NYMEX) increased by $0.98 (0.99%) to $99.69 per barrel.
Overall, over the past week Brent rose by 11.3% and WTI by 8%. Since the beginning of the month, both benchmarks have risen by more than 40% and have reached their highest levels since 2022.
In Ukraine, gasoline prices remained unchanged compared with the weekend, but diesel fuel is getting more expensive. Thus, in Kyiv a liter of diesel at gas stations now costs 79.99–82.99 hryvnias.
Back on Friday, its price was 75.40–80.99 hryvnias. That is, the upper and lower price limits have noticeably increased over just a few days.
Recall that on March 13 the United States eased sanctions on Russian oil. However, this did not manage to bring down prices, which are rising amid Iran’s blockade of the Strait of Hormuz.
Last week, an expert warned that Ukraine has a problem with fuel reserves: the country is fully supplied with motor fuel for March, but in April gasoline will be hard to come by.
