Zaluzhny is trusted by one-third more Ukrainians than Zelensky, – survey
22.01.2025 05:36Peace talks between Russia and Ukraine should be based on the postponement of Kyiv’s NATO membership.
According to Fico, Bratislava opposes Kyiv’s accession to the bloc, as it would entail the risk of a third world war.
Orbán supported the position of his Slovak colleague.
“Ukraine’s membership in NATO is equivalent to war,” he said.
The Hungarian Prime Minister noted that Budapest and Bratislava do not oppose Ukraine’s accession to the European Union, but for this, Ukraine must fulfill all conditions.
“At the moment, Ukraine’s accession would destroy Hungary,” Orbán stated, referring to competition between countries in agriculture.
In addition, he added that President Zelensky should refrain from aggressive rhetoric.
Earlier, Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico stated that Volodymyr Zelensky had offered him €500 million from frozen Russian assets in the West in exchange for agreeing to Ukraine’s NATO membership.
Before this, the Slovak Prime Minister said he would resist Ukraine’s NATO membership for as long as he remained in office.
