Zelensky is trying to sell his victory plan to European leaders, who are in no hurry to approve it – NYT
October 18, 2024Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán described Volodymyr Zelensky’s “victory plan,” presented in Brussels, as “frightening.”
The Hungarian politician shared his thoughts on Facebook.
“President Zelensky is presenting his victory plan. What he outlined yesterday in the Ukrainian parliament is more than frightening… We need to move from a military strategy to a peace strategy. We need a ceasefire and peace negotiations,” Orbán stated.
He added, “Today, I will also call on the German Chancellor and the French President to begin negotiations with the Russians on behalf of the entire European Union as soon as possible, so that we can find a way out of this situation.”
Recently, the American channel Fox News called the Ukrainian president’s “victory plan” a “losing gamble.” This view is based on the document’s lack of a realistic definition of victory and a viable strategy for achieving it, as well as the fact that Russia has more personnel and weapons.
The newspaper “Politico” also assessed the likelihood of Zelensky receiving positive responses to the requests in his “victory plan” as extremely low.
